Engine 58-2 arrived on scene in under two minutes after dispatch and found a second-floor apartment with fire visible through the second-floor window and doorway. The engine crew advanced a 300-foot attack line down an alleyway and into apartment C, initiating an aggressive interior fire attack. Tower 58 arrived, set up roof operations, vented a hole, and performed a search of the fire apartment. Mutual aid partners assisted with checking exposure apartments for extension, ensuring all occupants were evacuated, and supporting roof operations. The fire was extinguished in under five minutes, followed by extensive overhaul operations. One individual was transported to a local hospital with severe burns; no other injuries were reported.
