| At 11:40 AM Tower 58 was requested as part of a rescue assignment to the intersection of Middletown Road and Baker schoolhouse Road.
Tower 58 w/3 responded within 2 minutes of dispatch. Units responding were giving the additional information that one vehicle left the roadway into a wooded area and a tree had fallen down on it with occupants still inside.
A second call into 911 advised that the car has now called fire and was spreading quickly. BC6 upgraded the box to a Fire Box and Tanker Strike Team.
Tower 58 arrived first on scene and made an attempt to knock the fire down with water/foam cans and dry chem extinguishers to search the vehicle for occupants. Tower 58 crew was able to verify that no occupants were in the vehicle and the driver sustained minor injuries only.
Parkton Engine 60 arrived on scene, pulling a hand line to extinguish the fire. Engine 58-2 arrived and supplied E60 with water.
Crews remained in scene for a hour before returning to New Freedom |
