At 3:33pm 7-30-19 Rose Fire Co. was dispatched to Lois Court in Shrewsbury for a reported structure fire. Tower 58 & Engine 58-1 went responding.

Chief 61 (Myers) was advised by 911 dispatch that reports of fire to the rear of the home and Fire was moving inside.  Chief 61 dispatched a working fire assignment while
en-route with information he received from a member of 61 on location already.

Engine 61-2 ,Tower 58 and Baltimore County Engine 451 arrived and confirmed heavy fire to the rear of the home with fire extended into the interior. Chief 58-1 (McGillin, Rose Fire Co) arrived and was requested by Chief 61 who was still enroute, to assumed Command 61. More apparatus from, New Freedom, Glen Rock, Stewartstown and Maryland Line Fire departments arrived and were given orders to assist with fire extinguishment to the rear of the home and second floor. Crews began fire attack and found fire moving through the walls and under the roof to the attic. Crews continued to arrive and make progress on the visible fire to the rear and the interior of the first floor.  Fire was still moving through the walls and ceilings. Crews working hard to open up the walls and ceiling to extinguishing hiding fire.

A second alarm was hit out for additional manpower to relieve the firefighters who had been working non stop for over an hour.

Around 5pm Fire was reported out and extensive overhaul was now in progress looking for hot spots and any fire that may have rekindled Multiple firefighters were treated on the scene for heat exhaustion due to the high heat outside and inside the home. The fire was declared completely out and crews got all the fire apparatus on location back in order so they could return to service.

Major thank you to all the local residents and business owners for donating bottles of water to us in our time of need, it was greatly appreciated.

Great job to all fire departments on this incident. Hard labor intensive work was preformed under high heat conditions.
