At 0805 this morning Station 58 was alerted for the 1st due fire at 5 South Broad St, for the reported garage fire to the rear of the post office. Engine 58-1 (Asst. Chief Holloway) went en-route moments later and arrived with smoke showing from a 2 story detached garage. The engine crew ran the 200ft 1 3/4 attack line to the second floor of the garage and made quick work of the fire. Command held Eng 58-1, Trk 58 & Eng 451 for overhaul and mop up. Crews operated for about 2 hours before returning to service. Chief 58 (McGillin) had Command, Chief 58-1 (Holloway) had Interior Division.
