OPERATIONS
The Rose Fire Company operates out of the fire station located at 200 East Main St. in New Freedom Borough. Designated by York County as Station 58, the department provides Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services to the community. First Due response area includes New Freedom Borough as well as portions of Shrewsbury Township, Codorus Township, and Railroad Borough. Mutual Aid response includes the rest of York County as well as Baltimore, Carroll, and Harford Counties in Maryland.
-Apparatus-
Engine 58-1 is a 2007 Seagrave pumper with a full complement of fire suppression equipment and a combination rescue tool for vehicle extrications.
Engine 58-2 is a 1995 KME pumper with a full complement of fire suppression equipment.
Truck 58 is a 2000 E-One 100’ aerial platform with a full complement of ground ladders, as well as tools for search and rescue, salvage, overhaul, and ventilation. Truck 58 also carries Hurst Rescue Tools (Jaws of Life & O-Cutters), Rescue 42 stabilization struts, high and low pressure air bags, and various other rescue equipment.
-Leadership-
The operations of Company 58 are led by a set of Fire Line Officers elected annually by the membership of the department. This includes a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain and three Lieutenants. The Line Officers are responsible for filling out the positions within the Incident Command Structure.
