Whats the Difference between a MICU and an Ambulance?

An Ambulance is when the transport unit is staffed with 2 EMTs and a MICU is when the transport unit is staffed with an EMT and a Paramedic. EMT's and Paramedics are 2 different levels of care. EMTs provide Basic Life Support (BLS) such as Splinting, Bleeding Control, and Oxygen. While Paramedics provide Advance Life Support (ALS) such as, Heart Monitoring, Medical Drugs, and Airway Intubation.
