Just before noon, Station 58 was alerted to assist Station 61 (Shrewsbury Volunteers) with a possible chimney fire on Susquehanna Trail near Hametown Road. First arriving units found smoke showing and a working basement fire in a single-story dwelling.

Truck 58 (Lt. Abshagen) laddered the home and opened up for interior crews. Engine 58-2 (Capt. Wilhelm) along with Deputy Chief Shearer forced open an exterior basement door and advanced an attack line to the basement to assist with fire attack. Command held all crews for 2 hours for overhaul.
