Truck Company Extricates in Baltimore County

At 23:49hrs. Truck 58 (Chief McGillin) responded Mutual Aid to I-83 Northbound @ Freeland Road for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Baltimore County Engine 451 arrived confirming a multi-vehicle collision with several patients, one trapped. Truck 58 arrived and started the extrication, York County Rescue Squad 61 and Baltimore County Engine 60 assisting.

The extrication group removed both driver and passenger doors and removed the roof to free the patient, who was transfered to the care of EMS crews. Two patients were flown to local trauma centers by Maryland State Police helicopters Trooper 1 and 3, another patient was transported by ground to a trauma center.

Engine 451's officer (B. Pearce) held Command. Chief 58 was Extrication Group Supervisor. BCoFD EMS Lieutenant 7 was Medical Group Supervisor. Division Chief 1 was also on scene.
