Truck 58, Engine 58-1, and MICU 58 assisted Station 61 (Shrewsbury) with a working dwelling fire on Forrest Avenue. The MICU was in the area upon dispatch, and reported smoke showing upon arrival. Chief 61 (Myers) upgraded the incident to a working fire and requested a Tanker Task Force due to limited water supply.

Part way through the incident, a mayday was declared when a firefighter from our station fell from the first floor into the basement due to large amounts of debris covering the stairwell. Engine Company 59 deployed as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and removed the firefighter quickly. MICU 58 transported the firefighter to York Hospital, where he was later released with minor back pain but no life threatening conditions. We are all thankful that he did not suffer any major injuries!
