Thursday nights at Station 58 are company drill night, and this week's topic was Aerial Rescue. Members reviewed the principles and techniques used to help effect rescuing a patient using the capabilities of Tower 58.

Shortly after training had concluded, Fire Station 58 was requested to assist EMS with a patient lift assist in the 100 Block of Penny Lane, Shrewsbury Township.

Engine 58-1 (Capt. Shearer) responded and upon arrival determined that due to the patient's condition he could not be brought down from the second story of his home to ambulance care. Tower 58 was added to the assignment and members used the ladder truck to bring the patient to ground level via backboard and Stokes Basket through the bedroom window.

A great job by all personnel involved... training always pays off!!
